I stopped the full time Djing in 2000 in order to be more involved in the cooporate IT/Telcom world, but that don't mean I lost the passion and the love for Underground...In simple terms, I'm a Senior IT/Telecommunications Engineer (Specialist) based in London, a part time DJ and promoter of Dance music events in London and all over, and currently persuing my Masters in Management with hope to finish by mid 2008.
I like to organize stuffs and party on with people who we share similar interests....
Let me tell you a short story about what I've done as a DJ in the past :-) Before I moved to Paris & London, I performed at a number of gigs between 1993 and 2001 in Paris, London, GC, Joburg, Jwaneng, Mafikeng, Maun, Orapa, Pretoria..venues/places/events where I performed include:
1) FRANCE (Paris) (Club La 11 Scene, Gibus Night Club, Cafe OZ, Cafe dela plage, Club Wagg (support), Queen (support) & Cafe Puple Ace).
2) SOUTH AFRICA (The Star Studio Pretoria, De Garage, Enigma, Radio BOP..).
3) BOTSWANA (Club Hollywood, Khehlas Club, House Of Blues, Club Leggends, Club Platinum, Club Moribo, Music Festivals, RB2, Yarona FM, Gabz FM, Orange Insomnia, Easter Bunnies...).
4) UK (London) (The Spot - Covent Garden, Camden Palace, SeOne, Yacht Club, Neigbourhood, House FM, Sesto Bar...e.t.c).
....the mother of all times gig where I performed as the main DJ was on 16th June 1996 at GC stadium, along all the Kalawa (a South African dance music record label) bands, Hugh Masekela on saxophones & GC local Bands...Gig was attended by over 23 thousand people where I did a 3hour set...people were excited and screaming my name like I was a Michael Jackson type of entertainer or a little Carl Cox Lol. It was such an adrenaline rush, a thrilling experience as I could not afford to make a mistake on the set toand disappoint 23K revellers, I don't know how I pulled it through but hey I did well...that should give you a clue heeee? I consider that my most memorable experience of all times, I know how it feels to be like a Michael Jackson on stage as a DJ, not to mention other ventures I'd consider as my greatest achievements - it's all thanks to the support I got from the people who appreciated and supported my style back (and still up to now do) in the days...THANK YOU! If you're a Musician/Artist/Dj, worry less if that hasn’t happened to you, your day is coming soon, and don't let no one tell you otherwise because you're the best!
As a DJ I'm heavily influenced/inspired by the great House Music producers/DJs of the world of which some I've either worked with or simply admire their skill sets, and that's:
Todd Terry, Lil' Louis, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Kerri Chandler, Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, Larry Heard, Karizma, Bob Sinclair & DJ Gregory, Mark Kinchen, David Morales & Frankie Knuckles, Paul Johnson, Masters at Work, DJ Duke, Eric Morillo, Jazzy B (Soul II Soul), Eric Kupper, E-Smooth not forgeting ma main fellows: Trouble Men (DJ Fudge & Brunno Banner) & Yass in Paris…
As an Engineer, my main inspirer is the one and only "E=MC2" dude Sir Albert Einstein - he is the most famous scientist of this century as he was very innovative and always thought deeper than deeper "outside the box". It's thanks to him we're pressing buttons everyday to automate human tasks or simply we live our lives through the use of electronics/gadgets and these operate as a result of the theories he pioneered...he's the God father in Science & Technology of human kind.
