Unified Records

Unified Records founders, CEO Brian Reaves and President Mike Brown, are both veterans of the music industry with more than two decades in the House Music industry. They both grew up in Maywood IL just outside of Chicago.

They are childhood buddies that grew up together in both age and music. As kids from the age 10 - now, they competed in everything. From basketball, to DJ-ing.

In 1982 started Brian began spinning at house parties Mike started a year later. From there they started not only spinning at clubs, rented hall, hotels and school functions but started promoting their own events. They have spun beside some of Chicago’s best such as Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Lil Louis, Andre Hatchet, Terry Hunter and many more.

In 2005 they founded Unified Records, which has become one of the biggest and fastest grow Chicago base labels. When they came up with the company, their objection was and still is today to help the artist. The slogan for Unified Records is It’s All About The Artist and they mean just that. Unified Records means unity and this is what they try to bring to the Artists they sign.

Being influenced by Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy and Andre Hatchett it’s no wonder why they have stuck with this for so long. Some re-licensing deals are with such labels as Defected Records, Kinky Sweet/Afterdark, Shelter Records, Wave Music, Sony, Sheer Music and many more.
